Finally Found A Pretty One

The only problem so far, is the broken AM bar on the back. Easy fix.
This has jumped to the head of the line for restoration. I'd love to find the remote.

Look at the size of the rectifier.

It's too bad it didn't come with the cabinet. The modern Statesman was one of Fisher's best:

I'd really like the amps that went with it. He has two.
He also has both types of the 55 watt mono amps (1 is type A?).

I would have to sell my most beloved amp (not a deuce) to pay for just one of them. I can't do it.

Boy oh boy....

If there is anyway to come up with the scratch I'd do it...OTHER than selling your citation II!

Of course this depends on what he's asking for these pieces. I can see if they are flea bay priced passing but if they are significantly below market value I think you'll be kicking yourself in the butt in the future!

I'd at least look into it and report back. I like living vicariously through other people's scores! :)

I think both deuces or my mac240 would have to go just to afford one.
I was afraid to ask.

A whole lot of Fishers have that "Remote Control" jack on the back, but I've never even heard of the remote actually existing.

He has two 100's or two SA-100's? Does he have the cabinet, too?

Yes, on the cages. I'm not sure about the amplifiers. He has at least four fisher amplifiers.
The two mono amps may be 200's. I referenced the RS catalog.

He mentioned one of his fisher amps as a Type A version.

I can't beleive you're finding all this stuff in Abq. I lived in NM for 30 years, 10 of which in Abq and never found gear like that when I was there.

OMG!!!!!!!! One of those Receivers would look perfect in my Coronet Cabinet!!!! Champagne Taste on a Water budget!!! I'd trade my 400 for one of those!!! DAMN THOSE ARE GORGEOUS!!!!!

BTW: Anyone see the 64 Ambassador on that auction site. He wants what a 64 President cost new!!! It's gotten plain out of hand. And he'll gut it if you want! Crazy! Guess I'll gussy up the Custom electra VIII and the FUTURA VI and see what kind of extortionist price I can get out of them (sarcastic LOL!) !!!!

Good luck finding a nice record at Charlies on Menaul. 6 years and waiting...:sigh:

Anyways, it all started here with my first tube purchase.

It was the comment that electronjohn made (post#2) that steered me down the right path.
It seems like a lot of time has past since then.

Thanks electronjohn,

Finally got the preamp into the test kitchen. So far, no magic smoke. :thmbsp:
