ESS Heil Look Like DCM TF

I saw these on CL, would like to pursue but there's no info on the ESS website or from any searches, so I'm hoping someone here knows what's under the socks on these DCM TF look-alikes. Made in Germany so probably pretty good but wondering what kind of tweeter these have.

Has anyone seen these before?

And as you say, looks a lot like the DCM Time Frame speakers!

I'd want to see more pix to say more - especially the FEET!

Hmm that's very interesting...I think Oscar Heil continued making his speakers in Germany after the company in the US folded. I was always under the impression that his work overseas was fairly high end (although those speaker terminals don't reflect that idea). I think the company in some way shape or form is still around today.

Inside, I think you'll find a transmission-line loaded woofer and cone tweeters at various locations.

One would guess so just by the thickness (or thinness) of the tapered cabinets. But hopefully someone has actually seen the insides of one of these.

While not expecting a Great Heil, it's possible that there are one or more small ribbon tweeters inside.

Got to see them but didn't pick them up. The tweets did seem to be ribbon tweeters from what I could feel/see behind the sock. But they didn't appear to be outputting enough. Could be worn diaphragms, maybe caps in the XO. But without being able to tell, wasn't going to buy without a dirt cheap price.

There was an ESS model marketed in North America that looked identical, save the woofer. It was called the Translinear. The woofer in the North American speaker was similar to the KEF B139 and put out a lot of deep bass.
