Break Glass, Smoke Lucky
Last night I saw a CL ad for lots of records, stereo gear, etc. I got there right at the start time and there were a handful of people looking through crates of records, maybe 3 tables worth. I pull up to one and start paging through. After 4 or so selections were pulled, I saw the home owner and asked about the stereo gear. He said he had a lot of turn tables left (someone came last night and bought ALL of his speakers) and a couple other things.
We get down to his mess in the basement and there's a Fisher sitting on top of a stack of junk. $20 he says, I say "as long as the tubes are original, I'll take it". Barely able to contain myself....
The chassis is pitted a bit, and the faceplate has just a couple of nicks. Two knobs are broken.
The records without the sleeves are all promo's. Couple Hendrix, otherwise mostly jazz. Some are only VG, most are VG+, some of the promo's have never been played.
Total cash, $48.
