Rick Cobb's suggestion. Edge of the work bench. Bring the cutting edge up from below and remove the foam from the back of the cone. First pass got the biggest stuff. A few more passes to get the small bits.

Find the seam and use a sharp knife to break one edge free. Then pull it gently off. These two came off no problem.

Next, clean up the basket edge with something sharp. Go slow here the cone is very close. One slip and you're screwed. I finished with a small piece of 120 grit sandpaper.

These bad boys are cleaned up and ready for some glue and foam. About 4 hours into it by now.

The next question for those following live here. Does he shim or use the 30 hz test cd?

Pros for 30 hz cd - Saves about 2 hours worth of effort, better cosmetic results if you have shaky hands, no chance of damaging the woofer (that's a big one)

Con's for the cd - was that a scrape I heard or just my tinnitus.

Any guesses? Next picture will tell.

I used the CD (actually my HP Audio generator) method on my LE-111A's and have been enjoying them for some time now...:thmbsp:
