Yeah, pretty excited about it.......Ive got the caps all lined up ready to go!!!

Im going to do the entire power-amp tonight when I get home from work....
Including the main caps........
The Crown Macrotech 5002VZ caps 110V(135v surge) 15,000uf look like a good option....Ive got some clamps for them, I will find a way to get them in there....

The filter caps that are in it are pretty dam good caps. I'd check them out first.

You know Paul, I might just get rest of it done and asses the state of the main caps in that case.......
Will see how she runs.....
My G-9K has the original Ovals in it, and that amplifier performs very well, right on spec.....

And, it starts...........first glimpse inside, I changed the voltages over to 240V then put the pre-amp in the lounge on top of the G-9K just for fun and powered it up.......
These things are stupid huge!!!!........I keep laughing at it because its so big....

I forgot to ask, are you having to deal with Sansui glue along the way? Almost think that a byob session at Kevzep's abobe is in order except for the 12000 mile commute. Each way no less :) Would be willing to bring my virgin Bluebird label re-release of Glen Miller for big band test material. And that reminds me, y'all do consume beery beverages way down there don't you?

Glad to see that it arrived safe Kevin! Those factory boxes were pretty much trash.. but they held with enough duct tape and extra cardboard. I searched and searched and couldn't find anything that was close to the original dimensions..unless I wanted to buy them, I thought they'd be fine. Looks good for traveling 10,000 Miles.. Also, glad to see you didn't unbox it in your house.. that foam is a mess!

Were you able to duplicate the protection issue before you started the recap?

...An' The Island didn't tip over 'n' sink, after all....(grin) Very glad to see it arrived safely. Let us know when you get it re-capped 'n' all, & ready to Crank It Up, I'll open my window & see if I can hear it up here in Tennessee...
