Well, you know who you are.
You single, slobbish fat bastards with an endless supply of funds in your bank account. You purchase and hoard fantastic, expensive, vintage electronic equipment and HOARD it in your basements or filthy apartments because you MUST have it all and you are greedy. If you are one of these people, please STOP now. Why should you be allowed to HOARD all this fantastic stuff, in your filthy apartment, where NO ONE but you can enjoy it? It would be much better suited at MY place, where it would be used, cared for properly and ENJOYED. You know that you will be on that show HOARDERS one day. So, if you are one of these people, please contact me and sell me your fantastic items. You are probably sitting there, using some great McIntosh amp for a coffee table, eating a hamburger over it and ruining the poor amp. Amps are not to be used for greedy people eating hamburgers. Please STOP. Also, you probably have great speakers, large expensive ones. Sell them to me before they meet the same fate as your amps and other vintage electronics that have become USELESS to you because you have too many, you can't get up off the lazy chair anymore and you have no intention of using them. Ever. Reel to Reels? Don't spill pop on them. Electronics do not have STOMACHS and do not need FOOD. It's disgusting. Stop. Please stop now and contact me, and quit being greedy. At once. You are already collecting something. Fat cells. Contact me.

Not sure what he is talking about. I took a quick look around the listings and there is plenty of cool stuff for sale there.

Eh?

A feeble attempt at a "clever' approach to get people to sell him stuff.

Wonder what approach guys like him would use if the TV show hoarders didn't exist ?

What's that old thing about how every time you point your finger at someone, your other four fingers are pointing straight back at you? Methinks this one dost describe too much...I'll bet that whoever wrote that is fat, greedy, lazy and prone to eating atop gear... and he might well be an AKer, too! :D

Actually, I thought it was pretty funny (even though it wouldn't make me sell him gear!).

(Disclaimer: No affiliation or connection whatsoever with that post.)

Somebody must beat him out to all those "auctions" all the time on vintage stuff ... I don't know. :scratch2: .. sounds pissed to me..

This is really funny. Someone got there nose out of joint big time. I've noticed two camps of cl people. Those who merely are hobby audio folk who from time to time pursue the cl adds with the notion of striking it rich with a goldmine score (I fall into this category).

Camp two are professional pickers who make a living from picking and take it somewhat more serious. I have a few audio acquaintances who fall under this category, and rest assured are very serious about cl scores.

"May the better man win" is my motto. I surf cl adds from time to time and once in awhile am blessed with an audio score. My most recent are my Altec 604-8G's. In fact I just got off the phone thanking the people who sold them to me at a very, very fair price. I think you get what you give, and once in awhile it comes back full circle.

I believe you're right about the two camps. What bugs me is that there are folks on CL who are 'two faced' with their dealings. The wear the " please help out this poor old hobbyist" in order to extract things from people for free or on the cheap, then the turn around and put on the "professional" face when it comes time to sell stuff for high $$. It's laughable cause sometimes the ads are running on CL simultaneously. Not real obvious in many cases, but sometimes if you check the phone number in the ads you'll see it's the same person.

Maybe it is the evil twin? :D :music: :scratch2:

I can tell you how the thought process worked.

All it takes is one serious reply.:thmbsp:

Ha!, I bet...

1) get internet
2) troll cl for scroes
3)???
4) Profit!

Would be funny if there was that one guy. Would be even funnier if someone sent him an (very reasonably priced) offer complete with a picture of a receiver...with a plate full of fries and a hamburger on top "if ya' want, I can wipe the grease offait, but that'll be another $5":D

I always do the goatee check:yes:
