Been searching for a 1250 for over a 1yr. Fleebay had one last month (700 clams). My latest CL find....300 clams....Fully working and in Very Nice shape and not much dust in the unit.

Will be putting together a Parts list...

Asking if there are any Service Notes for this one or problem area's?

Dual Main Cap....It's going to need a replacement..A small Dimply is dead center and in time this will leak.

Thread for Main Cap Replacement: http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=346114

These are sweet units- only got ya is the double PS cap.

I'll be watching and if you have a cap list you can share once you are done that would be awesome.

I will reach out to KrZ8 on the Double cap replacement thread...Have a few questions.

Here's mine.

This thread is going to be an important one. My 1250 is sitting and either awaiting for me to have it serviced or make the time to learn past the level I'm at now. Those caps and stability improvements require increased competency yet to develop for me. (Can you say rare.....?) Congrats on your finding this one CohibaJoe.

It's a nice piece, I still use it daily with no issues.

Here is the parts order I made back in 2010, I only replaced the electrolytics and the transistors:

https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx...file,pdf&app=WordPdf&authkey=!AKtTCW6iEIGWyvM
Thank You....And also for the Expanded Pictures of the Main Cap "dual core" filter capacitor replacement you did.

Going thru this now on the Cap List: Looking for Long Life, High Ripple, Low lmpedance and 105Deg. Silmic II I like to use in Pre/Tone, Phone areas.

NICHICON PW, KL(for Low Leakage and Tantalum), VX(Axial) and ELNA Silmic II

So here are the Main Caps that will be used. As stayed...35mm Diameter is Max.

And yes....I did replace the Relay.

OK....Back to the Parts list.

List is Completed. I am not going Cap Crazy with the 1250. I feel the sound is Very Fine with this Marantz...I may Update the Phone/Mic Board later.

I have verified with MY 1250 by looking at the PCB board's and the Service Manual. S/N: 100628

This is what I will be using. As Fleetwood Mac sings: "You can go your own way"

Joe thanks for posting this! These look to be what MTF recommends and most use as a standard Pioneer rebuild set up.

While ordering from Mouser why not just get:

647-UFG1J470MPM 47uf 63V Nichicon FG

Please let me know what you think as you work through this.

Good Eye..

I will not be going Crazy as with the 1060 that was done. This 1250 is Special and took over a Year to find. I have followed what MTF recommended with my Pioneer SX-1250 recap and it's the "Bomb" (with SILMIC II).

I do have the 63V ELNA SILMIC II on hand...Plus I have a Order in with PartsConnexion...FG's are my 2nd choice in my book so FG's can be used on P400 Phone/Mic Amp board...speaking of this board.

If it's OK...I would like to go over the Phone/Mic board with you. Maybe add some Films and AMTRANS Resistors...still going over the schematics.

Here are the Main Caps I will be using.

4X EPCOS 8200uf/80v

Board I am using is from Jim's Audio. Needed to cut one end to make this fit. This will work and it's a Clean installation. Just waiting for the 2 Pin Terminal Posts.
