2 Phono's Into 1 Phono Input Device Exist?

I've got one phono input on my 9090. Is there a device that can allow 2 TTs to be connected into 1 phono input? I'm thinking of something like some sort of switch box? I'm not looking for a device to play both TTs at the same time, just something to switch back & forth between 2 TTs. Does this type of unit exist?

Magnavox used to make what you are seeking, I have two that I use all the time. It is basically an A/B switcher that let's you use one or the other, I'm sure that someone out makes them today. Good luck!

If you Google phono auxiliary switch you should find what your looking for.

IIRC Rek-O-Kut makes one. I think it was about 35 bucks.

This might be a dumb question?, but could you not just use 'y' connectors with spliced in diodes to stop the signal from going back into the second TT?

Diode switching would not work for analog signals as either the negitive or positive part of the waveform (depending on diode wired direction) would not be passed on. Thats called a rectifier and would sound like bad ass for sure :D

Wow, thanks for the plethora of responses. I must be a dumb*ss, I've seen these sorta units before (in my fantansies, or so I thought). I apprecitate the pointers. The Rek-O-Kut box looks to be what I am looking for... Since I've got no more available inputs on the 9090, I'll need one of these switchers for a TD-150 and AR-XA. Maybe I can add the ADC CD-100X CD player that's collecting dust, too. It deserves to be played since it's got a very nice warm sound & it plays every CD-R I've thrown at it.

Best regards

For what its worth I think Glen B's sugesstion is best. Phono inputs are at a very low level, and prone to noise. It is also often hard to get the capacitance low enough that the fequency response will come out nice and level. Putting more stuff in the phono lines is a step in the wrong direction. I suspect it would degrade the sound some. How much depends on a whole bunch of things.

I would want any switch box to be after the phono stage (or stages).

YMMV

a phono stage and input selector into a spare aux circuit gives you the added option of matching each turntable to either the amp's phono stage or the separate phono stage...
the humble nad pp1/project phono box or qed discsaver or similar shouldn't break the bank
QED also make good quality source switching units for line level ...

I have two TTs and one phono input too. I just use two RCA Y connecters with no problems, as only one TT is powered up at a time. Why make it more complicated than it needs to be? It works for me.

I have three turntables hooked to my Sansui. One is for stereo and for playing SQ & QS records, one is for CD4 records and the other one is for a linear turntable for my wife to use. I am lazy and don't like to change carts each time I play a record. To make a long story short, I purchased a three position stereo switch from Radio Shack for about $20. Works quite well with no hassles and my wife can play her own records.
