You could say I have been using this forum as a way of thinking out loud, contemplating various ways to improve my system, discussing possible upgrades. I have vicariously enjoyed upgrades other members have made all the while trying to figure out if I would be happy with simillar changes. I have not spent any significant money on upgrades since I joined this forum and the reason is fear of divorce :D Yes just think about how much divorce will cost and it will cure you of the lu flu  Seriously, I just wanted to say that this forum is the best . It has truly been a pleasure hanging out here with you guys ! David

It's been great to have you on the forum.

And I did notice a change in attitude? From:

"you guys are crazy for spending money, there's no way that your ears and what you are hearing can justify $x,000 extra"

to:

"Perhaps more expensive gear does make a difference worth the $."

Hey, just a little screaming, then you put on her favorite music, and away it goes. :smilemad:

Or lastly, you could spend twice as much and get her a piece of jewelery to balance the scales.

Your right this place is great! Great people, great stories, great advice.

Just bad for your wallet in a good way.

dont mind me just a ghost passing thru...

Wallet = A mobile receptacle for the storage of currency that one may carry on their person.
If you're on the McIntosh forum, it will be empty most of the time. :smoke:

im hardly in te mc forums but my receptacle which may be used to carry currency is usually empty. usually just a bunch of recepts of which i dont know why i carry. maybe its to make it seem fatter.

maybe some day ill find a MC amp for real cheap locally. so far ive found two amps for far below market value. a yammie M70, and a hafler dh 200. not quite MC quality, but meeets my needs so hey!:music:

McIntosh obsession is that "black hole" the astrophysicists keep talking about, except they keep looking up at the sky instead of at our wallets. :D

i look at it this way, the mc flu cured me of a empty bank acount. before i would spend thousands at my dealer looking for that new item that was so called better then the last, and lose money on the resale. Where the mcintosh gear, allows you to grow and in the long run, either make money or keep most of what you spent. How many times do you really need to replace mcintosh gear if you are already at the top end? I just said screw it, and started out with more then i need, unless I move to some huge house that has a hall, for my audio room, I will never need to replace my 501's. I dont see where any mcintosh pre amp is that much better then the c2300 to justify changing, and my mht-200 solves my needs for home theater. (though you will always lose on any type of home theater piece because they will always come out with something new. I cant justify going to a mcintosh dvd player because I cant find anything that blows away the esoteric dv60. So the point here, and i know i took the long long way around the barn here, is, that if you look at your area and you wait till you can really do it, start off on top, because you can never really replace it.:scratch2: but then again,..... once you open that brand new piece of mcintosh gear that no one ever touched, you always want more. so... umm.... forget everythign i just said, and buy buy buy buy:banana:

oh god why didnt i think of this before.......

ive got the perfect antidote for the LU FLU....
