Awesome Technics speakers??

While shopping around today on my lunch break, I found a pair of :

Technics SB-TF200

Technics SB-TW200

I would never usually look at a Technics speaker, but I saw the THX logo and figured each front speaker weighs 35 pounds and the subs weigh 45 pounds each (but only 6" deep). Very high quality built drivers. I hooked them up to my "junk" system and was quite floored by how these sounded. This is the only information I could find, in Japanese.

Any help or information on these would be awesome!!!!!!

I don't have any information, but Technics made VERY good speakers when they wanted to (see the SB-7000 and up). Yours look very cool, I would definitely snarf a set of those, given the opportunity.

Nice pic of Justin Morneau. Go Pirates?

Reviving an Ancient Thread...

There is pretty much NO info outside of one Japanese site for the Panasonic Branded version of the SB-TS200 Satellite and SB-TW200 Woofer modules. I saw full set ( sans the woofer legs) about a year ago on CL somewhere in the Midwest and thought, there's no way they are going to get sold. --- sure as hell. someone bought them. Same happened when I saw a set closer to home , might have been NH or the Cape, I'm thinking for the money the seller is asking he's got no chance. sure as hell again , someone bought them. So either the Technics name paired with A THX Logo gets them gone or there's an underground cult following that rivals the Sony SS-M7 / M3/ M9 crowd.

I've heard the Satellites and was pretty much blown away given the fact that they had the Name Technics on them. but the THX spec called for some specific requirements and so Matsushita must have done their homework. Paired with a sub ( which they require) the SB-TS200 sats are pretty impressive and perform on par with the Similarly designed Snells Ive heard.

Their a bit more shallow than the M&K S-100b and are fairly Large for a "satellite speaker". I'd love to get my hands on the matching woofer modules to see what they're all about but the Sats paired with an M&K Sub made me think twice about writing off Technics entirely for their speakers.
