Finally found a shelf to house them after a year out of my rotation. It all sounds great:music: The only issue was the two P-D70 CD players stopped working:tears: Opened them up and cleaned the lens and got one operational:banana: The other didn't respond to treatment:no: Any suggestions or did the laser finally give out:scratch2:

using everything through the SA 9800 for now.( Took markthefixer suggestion and cleaned the contacts on the meter display of the SA 9800) Worked like a charm!! No more intermittent on/off problems.

Pioneer TX 9800

That some beautiful gear there. This flouroscan and the black Sansui AU gear are to my eyes the best looking.Almost a shame to keep it in a rack.

I just picked up an open shelf stereo rack today with five tempered glass compartments:yes: Thick and wide enough to hold a SX D7000 and all of my heavier components:thmbsp: Perfect to showing off these beauties. I'm in the same camp as you...They need to be seen:D Pictures will follow once I transfer the pieces.

Very Nice!! Those Blue lights are so beautiful :sigh: cant wait to see pics of them on the glass rack!

Picked up this Copenhagen shelf 50% off ($60) At a local thrift store and got a chance to switch the Pioneer gear. The advantage so far is ease of access,
cooler temperature due to the open space, and the optics of being able to see the blue lights out in the open.

The thick tempered glass eases the mind of the heavy pieces holding up:thmbsp:

Looks nice.Did that rack only have one glass shelf?

It actually has five ( 3 middle). 70's audio gear take up a whole lot of space, Heck the CT F900 is almost the size of an amp:yes: Couldn't use two of them due to the height of the pieces. At least they can breath, The non- switching
Fluoroscan's can get warm.

Update 2019: The SA-9800 fully refurbished and along with the TX-9800 received the “ Sawdust “ Cabinet upgrade!! Now I can use one for the P-D70 CD player.

VERY NICE!! Can I ask how much the SA-9800 refurb set you back or did you do it yourself?

I have an electronics friend that happens to love vintage audio. He does repairs for me on the side, Not to make money. To him it’s a hobby that supplements his job. My cost was around $250. He’s also a member here.
