CF-3/4 with an Active Crossover / Biamping?

Hey Guys

Is anyone going active with their CF-3 / CF-4 speakers? I'm really thinking of picking up a pair of these speakers and using software-based crossovers created in rePhase and used in JRiver Media Center.

I've done the active thing before but got out of audio (sort of) for a little while. Now looking to get back in and these speakers (the CF-3 and CF-4) look very interesting.

Oh, yeah, how easy is it to get into the cabinet of these speakers?

Thanks!
Jim

The CF3&4 both share the same horn. Largest horn short of the K400/401 in home Klipsch, hybrid conical/tractrix but with thin resin walls. These horn benefit much from reinforcing brace work bonded to the back side then damping with dynamat. Cross brace all cabinet panels then tie all braces together with stringers. This is light and takes up little volume yet it reinforces the cabinet well. You can look at the link below to see how this form of brace work was used in my Quartet cabinets. Best regards Moray James.
