Hi everyone,

I saw one of each of these this weekend at what I think are bargain prices. $40 for the CA-610II and $45 for the CR-620.

My question is, which one, if any , should I grab. Which is the deal?

Cheers!

For the asking prices since there is no shipping, I agree with the response of both. I have a pair of 610IIs and they sound different, 1 being less than well interesting and the other not bad. Obviously the 1st needs some TLC but ass it has a faceplate that was really abused I'm saving it for a parts unit. The asking price for the amp is quite fair considering that it is an integrated and pretty decent. With a speaker that presents a not too complex load and is not high end hot, it makes for a decent lower powered listening system, especially mated with the matching 610II tuner for those Saturday afternoon Live at the Opera on CBC.

I've no experience with the 620 but I'm sure Merrylander will jump in with an opinion.

I would take a CR-620 at that price any day. All I can say about it is that it was a CR-620 that replaced a Marantz 2238 here and we have never looked back. That CR-620 eventually morphed into a CR-2020 as we worked our way through the family CR-620->CR-820->CR-1020->CR-2020, all driving the same pair of Polk Monitor 7Bs, they seem to like each other.

I bought a Yammie CA-610II brand new in 1979...sweeeeeet amp...BUT...if you're going to want AM-FM...get the Receiver...then you'll have it...of course if they're both nice...at those prices...get 'em both.
