wished it was closer or that he'd ship.

This belongs in dollars&sense. I'm sure toze will be along to save the day and move it for ya :D

For its' quality sound and quality build, and the fact it looks excellent, that isn't such a bad price. I would try to dicker a bit, though.

Sam - I think with a little dickering...that baby's YOURS!!! Good luck!!!! Is this the same guy in Orange County that posted about finding a 16.5 in his closet a while back????

Hope you get it. Maybe try to talk the guy down to even $550 or $500 or somthing. you wont regret it.:thmbsp:

Sombody also needs to try to get the serial # from him, even if an AKer doesnt get it, so Sigurd(N.N.) can put it on his list.

That would be close to the deal you got.

Okay, since Sam's interested, I'll offer that I live in the same town as the seller. Sam, if you need my help, I'd be glad to.

I think I "recognize" that 16.5

I am pretty sure that this is the same 16.5 as the one that was discussed as potentially being for sale (login may be required) on the Conceptaudio forum over at Yahoo Groups about a month back - both owners live in O.C and both were given the 16.5 by his uncle.

Regards,

EDIT:
PS! Bully, I still the serial number of your 16.5 for the AK 16.5 Owner Database, whenever you have that 70 lbs. behemoth out of the rack.

Thanks for your offer, very kind of you. I haven't heard from the seller yet...

Sam, to me it sounds more like the owner made some preliminary enquiries on his 16.5 over at Concept Audio Y!, got some feedback about a unit he knew very little about, and only now has gotten around to actually promoting his sale.

So my money would be on this CL seller is the "Paul G" that made the original inquiry on Y!.

Rgds,

That's why we should never answer the "what it's worth questions". Anyone worth his salt should already know.

Absolutely. Another profiteer with no idea why a given unit has value.

I contacted the seller of the CL unit to get the 16.5 serial number: Well, guys, I just received a reply, and the seller is not the same person as the "Paul G" unit discussed at Yahoo Groups! I guess, by coincidence, that both units have been handed down from "uncle" in O.C. (unless there is more to this than meets the eye).

I will update the 16.5 serial number database with the serial number of this one.

If anyone knows how to "talk 'em down", it's Sam.

I just e-mail communicated with this guy. He wants to meet at a mall, which is ok but he seems reluctant to find a way for me to test it. He says, "I don't know anything about this, my uncle gave it to me." How hard is it to plug in and attach some speakers?
