Custom Built Speakers

I found a pair of speakers and they are supposed to be custom built but I have my doubts. It says that the woofers are Eminence. I'm thinking that the owner just changed the woofers because they don't look like custom built to me.

Any ideas to what these are and what they're worth.

They look like kit speakers. Similar to ACI/Audio Concept Inc offerings. Though I'm not sure why the back panel has that opening? Not sure if it was for a rear ambiance tweeter, or maybe a vario-vent style port? New, ACI speakers were very decent, entry level high end speakers. But, if no longer stock, I doubt they'd be worth much. Pay accordingly.

They certainly don't look "custom built" (to me at least). They have a nameplate on the back panel and overall fit and finish of the cabinet and grilles look commercially produced. It is not uncommon to see Eminence drivers to be used by other commercial manufacturers, so they could be originals. What they are worth is up to you--go listen to them and decide.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm really not interested in them unless they are pretty decent speakers. I'll have to go take a look at them and decide. It looks like they may be in a garage so I might not be able to hear them.
