Denon DP-60L foots & speed question

david winter

Classical music lover.
Hi,

I can't find the foot for my DP-60L. Are they unique to this model or can I search using other models to get better chances ?

I also have both straight and S arms with weights. While the straight arm is lighter, would it be possible to mod the turntabnle to play 78pm uisng the heavier S arm ? If so, is there an existing mod or would the servo electronics be too complicated to modify ? Just a thought...

Thanks !

Do you mean the hemispheres ? What type did you use (size, durometer) ?
A quick check on ebay shows various types, some of which are on a specific brand, and even listed as genuine (meaning counterfeits exist).
Some are even listed for speakers but I don't know how effective they are. Should I use them for my AR-3a improved ?

Speakers on the same shelf as my wife's CD player caused skipping when she cranked the volume. Sorbothane hemispheres under the speakers fixed it.

Estimate the weight they will be asked to hold up, and choose a size fitting the application and within the recommended weight range.

I checked on the bay and only saw hemispheres by size with almost the same durometer (like 40 or 50).
I took the large ones (about 1 inch large). I never had a trouble with vibrations using my turntable so I guess they will do so far.
As for the speakers, they could do the trick but I will prefer stands to position them at the correct height.
Thanks !

Be careful with which sorbothane you buy as some of them cause staining/discolouration of the wood surface they sit on.

SORBOTHANE BUMPERS
"Sorbothane Half Hemispheres" come in 3 durometers or "Duro" "30 Duro" (the softest), "50 Duro", and "70 Duro" (The most firm). The "Sorbothane Hemispheres" also come with and with out a Urethane (Urethane coating only available in "50 Duro" with custom orders). Raw Sorbothane has a great natural "Stickiness" but be careful because it does contain "Plasticizer" which can stain raw wood. The Urethane coating on the other hand does eliminate the natural "Stickiness" of the Sorbothane but it also offers a protective layer to protect raw wood from being stained by the plasticizer.

Just a heads-up.

Well those I got are the raw ones at 50 duro. They indeed stick to the wood but I didn't know about the plasticizer. Will have to find a way to deal with this. Probably some sort of double sided adhesive tape.
