Denon Multi Room Outputs

I have a Denon DRA-395 with a multi zone feature. In addition to the main "zone 1" it has zone 2 and zone 3 rca outputs. These zones allow the same or different program that is on in zone 1 to go to a different room. The advantage is the second and third room source, volume, etc. can be controlled from the single remote or main Denon unit. The manual says that a power amp is also needed in each room that you would feed either the zone 2 or zone 3 output signal into. I do not have a power amp but I have an extra Sony STR-DE315 that I am not using. Is there a way to use the Sony in place of the power amplifier in the second room? If so, which input of the Sony should the zone 2 outputs go to?

Yed, you can. Use any input except PHONO. I recommend CD.
Thanks so much, and I imagine that using this method, the volume, etc. could be controlled at either amp?..some danger in juicing the volumes up on both amps? guess I will experiment with best settings for the zone 2 controls and the sony controls.

Yes, you can control the volume with either amp. Probably best to set the volume on the Sony so that the equivalent volume setting on the Denon gives you the same sound level in either zone, then just leave it. You're unlikely to cause any damage, even by boosting the volume on the Sony all the way. If you hear distorion, it means you're overdriving the Sony's input section, in which case, just turn it down.
