One speaker cable worked its way loose and blew a fuse on the Asthetix Atlas amp, nice part was the display showed R pos fuse blew so it was easy to diagnose but a hard to find fuse that was FedX'd today. The fuse is a 20mm 15a 250v fast blow and 5 attempts to buy locally where useless cause if its size..most are 30mm. Anyway the amps builder figured the power supply may have gotten fried and no way to tell till fuse went in, and it didnt blow so that is great news!
Shipping a 80lb amp alone would be expensive and God only knows what to fix.................wheeew!

A harrowing story with a happy ending!

Hope you got a couple extra of those fuses. Could shorten the period of anxiety if something similar ever happens again.

Good news. I have found that Granger carries most needed fuses. I have a Granger within 1 mile from where I work.

Had 4 fuses sent out for backup lol, I still am impressed the amp told exactly what was wrong on its display panel (it has built in crossover for powered woofer models) so its display does many useful things.

I trust you checked ALL the connections after that! ;) :thmbsp:

That was easy cause amp was pulled out and a Classe amp was used in its place till fuse came, but yea the connections were really cranked down and I also took some bread ties and tied the speaker wires to a chassis screw for an added support. The problem is the Audioquest Mont Blanc speaker cables, they are really stiff and heavy plus there is the Battery DBS pack that sirs just a few inches from amp, the inputs are nice cause its balanced so they lock in place. Hope it wont happen again and I see a once in a week or so inspection of cables to be safe.
