Empire 440E cartridge?

1.0g would be fantastically good, if it stays good for all your records. Fingers crossed.

Spoke too soon. The cantilever just fell out of the stylus. This thing was doomed from the beginning. I'm going to order another one from VOM but I'm going to get the 241-DE original instead of another EVG replacement. It looks like it would be equal to the original smoke colored one and the 4241-DID I have that just broke.

Keep in mind that the S200E is a step down from the S300ME. Recommended VTF is 2.5g instead of 1.5g, for example.

Yep. I want to see if it calms some of that treble sizzle I had. I'm looking for a laid-back sound, so hopefully this will do what I need it to do.....

Got the blue stylus for the 300ME. Though it is a step down from what I had, even on initial playing, it sounds MUCH better. More thump, less brightness, and a solid midrange. The last stylus was surely defective! I must say, I have had excellent service from Voice Of Music. Gary seems to be a really good guy and his prices are super!

"Doomed" might be a better word. But it was doomed in an odd way. Not that inexpensive aftermarket styli are always perfect, but cantilevers falling out-- that's weird.

Gary's working hard to be a good source of proper replacement styli, so he wants to know if a stylus you got from him isn't working as advertised. If you think the 4241-DID was gronked right out of the box, let him know, if you haven't already.

I did. He said to let him know whenever I get a bad one and he will help me out with it. I had always assumed that when you got one that wasn't quite right, you had to just buy another one. I didn't realize defective needles happen as often as they do.
