Hello @all,

my name is Dirk, i am a classic-audio addict from Germany.
Many times when i search for information to receiver or amplifier models, google brings me to your forum where i read a little bit.
So i thougt why not be a member in your forum, to have some talks about vintage stuff with you also.
I am a member in the german hifi-forum.de and today is my start in your forum.

My favorites are Sansui, Marantz and Pioneer from 1969 - 1979.
I like also some good old german 70s vintage device from Telefunken, Grundig, Saba, Braun, Dual etc. Outside Germany not many people know this brands.

greetings @all
Dirk

Don't be so sure about the German brands being "unknown" outside of Germany-I have Grundig, SABA, & Telefunken table radios from the late 1950s-early '60s, & the "Queen" of my Boatanchor collection is an immaculate Rohde & Schwarz EK-07...

sure they are not unknown, but many people dont know that they build good device in the seventies too. Not beautifull as "Made in Japan" but technical and from really good sound, same good as some Japan device.

Most of Classic Audio and Vintage Freaks for sure will know about this :thmbsp:

Thanks for your welcome!

Willkommen in AK, Dirk ! I've always admired German vintage electronics (and today' s High End stuff!)

Guten morgen Dirk!

Welcome to AK.

I was born in Frankfurt while my father was stationed in Germany in the late 50's. I know those brands! My first experience with audio/electronics was tinkering with our old Grundig table radio. Lucky thing that 7 year old kid didn't fry something...or himself!

Herzliche Willkommen! My parents' console was a Telefunken purchased in Mannheim in 1961. It's the first Hi-Fi I ever heard. I bought lots of nice gear in Giessen and Mainz while living in Fulda in the late '70's.

Welcome, Dirk!

My family always had some Grundig console or table radio around when I was a kid in the 60s, and I had an enormous Kuba console in my bedroom in my teen years. The workmanship on the cabinetry alone is astounding.
