How to use a Squeezebox with Analog System

I posted on the general audio discussion forum this morning about my experiences with Spotify. I'd like to be able to run the Spotify stream through my analog stereo system (Pioneer SPEC). I see that LogiTech has announced that the Squeezebox Touch will now stream Spotify.

My premium subscription streams at 384KB. I gather the Touch has both analog and digital outputs. I assume the digital outputs would preserve the stream, but I don't have any digital inputs on my pre-amp. If I connect using the analog outputs, will I lose some of the stream?

Also, what do you folks think. Is this a reasonable way to go or are there better solutions out there?

Thanks,

Jack

My duet streams flac files at 800 - 1000kbs out of its analog outputs so I don't see why it would compress the spotify stream.

The Touch has a pretty decent built in DAC that works up to 24/96k which is much higher bit rate than the spotify stream. Most people find the internal DAC is very good. But if you find it lacking, you can add an external DAC using the digital outputs of the Touch to drive the DAC.

Hopefully you are aware that using the Touch requires a music server be running somewhere. In the standalone mode, I don'tthink it can run plug ins (like spotify).
