I hate today's washing machines

We also had to replace our dishwasher this winter along with our washer and dryer. I went with a Kitchenaid dishwasher and that was a mistake that won't get repeated.

I have an "L.G." washing machine from 2005. The axle broke, but no electronic problem.
The "L.G." refrigerators have that linear compressor that proved to be a failure.

Not really. That is a rock, it a machine of any kind.

At one time, washing clothes on a rock in a creek was the accepted way. Then the washboard was invented. Since that time, we have never looked back.
"we" means different things in different places, yep.

approximately 141 million washing machines are sold globally, each year. That number is forecasted to increase significantly, within the next five years.

Now add to that number, the apartment dwellers who use the machines provided in the wash room of most apartment buildings, “we” is a significant number.

maybe yes, maybe no.

Had 2 lg refrigerators one almost made it 5 yrs the second ( only because at the time it was all I could get because of the supply disruption ) made it 3 yrs ! Never again , but still open to lg tvs the world’s largest supplier of flat screen panelsing on an all-LG kitchen so I'm

I'm plainning on an all-LG kitchen so I'm anxious about the refrigerator part. And that's the most important since the fridge I have is a 1996 Kenmore that might have to be replaced awfully soon. Stove may not be far behind.

The good news is if you buy an lg fridge it will go bad before you have to clean it out ! lol don’t unless you like changing fridges every 3-4 yrs !

I like the idea of having all one brand of appliances. Since the microwave is LG, why not everything else?
'Least I'm not going with Samsung.
A microwave is inexpensive and ultra disposable. I would not plan a kitchen around it. Samsung refrigerators got low marks mainly for the ice makers. They finally redesigned the system a few years ago and that's when I bought . Nice looking flex zone model with 2 bifold fridge doors on top and 2 bifold below for freezer. I like that you can use a bottom freezer for a fridge, hence flex zone. I also like it has a self filling water pitcher inside the door. Samsung oven/range and dishwasher as well since 2021. No issues.with any.

Well I had 2 that failed and there was a class action law suite against them for compressor failure !
Their linear compressor issues have been for the most part resolved. As far as all compressors go, they've been high on every manufacturer's warranty costs since government environmental regulations took hold over the industry. There's a much higher toll taken on compressors now than what we were used to before the end of the last century. It's one of the main reasons LG (since 2001) and other manufacturers have dabbled into variable speed sealed compressor technologies like the simplified and more efficient inverter linear designs. Consumer Reports currently has LG refrigerators rated as one of the highest in overall reliability. I'm just stating the current state of the appliance industry, not promoting one brand over another. You'll be able to find multiple class action lawsuits against just about every major appliance brand if you look close enough.

I guess if you're buying a $50 one at Walmart or a non-name AmazonBasics one. This one is an over-the-range one with a fan whose retail all of a sudden went up to $749. Hallelujah for the Best Buy outlet that had it for half that. We've had microwaves in our family that have lasted 20+ years, including my last one. 23 years and still going strong...only reason I got rid of it was the apartment I rented when I moved last year already had one.

Consumers guide didn’t always get it right and a lot of people got shafted by lg and I was one twice !
