Hi everyone, I'm Dustin Leland I don't know this post is suitable to this topic or not, if I do any wrong, please remind me. I have some questions that I hope you can give me some recommendations
1. I am wondering about should buy a wired or wireless speaker? some people said that wired speaker offers higher sound resolution, but some said that wireless (or bluetooth) speaker also provides the same quality, or slightly less. Plus, my budget is under $150. I am thinking about buying vava voom 21, how do you think about it?
2. Which specifications is important to you when it comes to choosing a good speaker, I am noticing specs like battery life (if it's wireless one), Frequency response, number of driver. Do you think it's enough?

Sorry if my questions are so dumb, I've never been in this audio field until last week.
Thank you in advance!

you dont mention what you have for an amp or source
but your budget wont go far for wireless

Just starting out, with a limited budget, I'd look at the used market (Craigslist).

Buy based on what sounds good to you, not on the specs (other than perhaps battery life if you choose wireless).

It sounds like the OP is looking for a single speaker for his phone, but I'm just guessing here.

We need more information...

About the source of audio, I usually listen music buy from Itunes and Apple music, sometimes with my favorite artist, I'll try to buy their lossless album.
About the purpose, I want to use the speaker for entertainment and studying, not for professional purpose.
is it enough please :D
About amp, I must confess that I don't know what it, is so I think I should enhance by roaming the forum and reading more about it...
Btw, I am reading about specifications of speaker, and my friend has just sent me this guide (buying guide from an affiliate website, i guess): https://technigital.com/loudest-bluetooth-speakers-market-2018/, after reading I think it's quite ok but do you think the G-project G-boom that article suggests is the suitable one for me?

All loudspeakers require an "amplified" audio signal in order to reproduce sound. Until recently most high quality speaker systems did NOT come with their own internal amplifiers (amp for short).

ALL of those wireless systems include the necessary amplifiers and for that reason are very convenient. I would NOT label them as hi-fidelity, however. As you can imagine when hi-fi speakers start at $1,000 and integrated amps start at $300, those wireless units just have to make compromises.

Dustin, when adding Bluetooth technology, the manufacturer has to either charge more or reduce the quality of the speakers and amp. I personally am not a big fan of Bluetooth audio. I think standard audio cables will give you superior sound.

Since you are posting on an audio board, I just assume you seek that superior sound. We'll, $150 doesn't buy you much unless you look for used. Used, however, is fraught with all kinds of potential problems.

If you prefer to buy new, Dustin, you might look at something like:

https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-ProM...1517184737&sr=1-23&keywords=Computer+speakers

Klipsch is an old audio company and well respected. Further, in these types of systems, I strongly recommend the 2.1 arrangement (3 separate speakers - two satellites and a subwoofer). This just gives you best sound per $ spent.

Regards,
Jerry

Thank you @onplane , for explaining for me about amp. And thank you for the recommendation you gave me. I am watching it and reading its review. It's seemingly this is the fit one for me, I'll scrutinze it for more detailed
I appreciate all your suggestions about my questions guys.. and sorry for my bad english :D

Hi Dustin, welcome to AK.

what are you using now for sound reproduction ? are you using earbuds or just the speaker in your phone or computer ? If so, than any speaker arrangement will be an improvement and you may be quite satisfied with a portable bluetooth speaker with no wires....they can be a lot of fun. Go to a Best Buy and try some out...let your ears be your guide.

It all comes down to how much time, money and space you're willing to put into your audio addiction.
