Which speak is good match with Sansui-999 or Marant 2230?
1. JBL L112
2. JBL 120Ti
3. other speakers? (under $400)

Mostly I play/listen classical music and some pop-songs.

for JBL L112 vs 120Ti
I have been searching for information and the conclusion is "JBL 120Ti beats L100/L112".

JBL L100 < L112 < 120Ti

Also The small dustcap on midrange has a slight mark on 120Ti. (it should not affect sound. i think.)

Should I go for JBL 120Ti?

In a perfect world, it would be nice to do an A/B of the speakers on your equipment in your room. I have no experience with the 120ti but I very much like the L112. In general, I prefer the smoother sound of aluminum tweeter over the ti dome, YMMV. For all intents and puposes, they both should fill your needs nicely. Another great speaker in that price range is the L100t3. They can draw attention to themselves but I think they sound great with some real low end punch. Good luck with your decision.

Go with the 120 and don't look back. The 112 may have a slight edge in the bass department, but the more modern mid and tweeter in the 120 will win you over. Both are great choices though and if you find a set of 112 's in your price range first, jump on them. As long as you don't overpay you could resell either pair later and lose nothing.

Or buy both and hear them in the same room at the same time - that is probably the best option :-)

Thanks for your thought.

120ti...it has better review for only heard both and looks good.
but little bit over priced from my budget. lol

Thanks.

Or build the best of both, and put some 044ti or equivalent tweeters in the L112. Not that I dislike the original 044's, quite the opposite, but if you're at a point in life where you want the crisper high end of the titanium drivers there is a path to that with the older models.

BTW, the 044 is NOT an aluminum tweeter; it's simply covered in a thin aluminum coating. Don't remember if they sputtered actual metal on these or if it's applied more like paint (I know people sometimes "repair" them that way). The actual dome material is softer stuff though (fabric as I recall), unlike the all-metal 044ti domes.
