Mcintosh owners snobs

Please don't take this the wrong way and it's not directed at anyone on this sight as everyone has been great on AK.
That being said. I recently fulfilled a dream of owning a Mcintosh. I'm approaching 60 years of age and figured it was time. I picked up a super nice vintage MA6200 and have been enjoying it every day. Talking to a few other owners of newer Mcintosh gear I get the feeling of being put down. Like my 6200 is junk and if it isn't new, why bother even having it. It reminds me of when I was into Corvettes. Some owners thought because their cars were "top flight" everyone else's cars were trash and shouldn't been in the same zip code as theirs.
Do any other vintage owners get that when talking to "new" owners? Or am I just over analyzing things and just need to turn the volume up a little more and enjoy the music.

Never once did I get the feeling of being "put down" because of my vintage Mac gear (it's all I own) by any other new Mac owners. If you're getting that vibe then perhaps it's time to look around for some better friends. Enjoy your 6200 in good health and don't worry about what the other guy might think

Could it truly be how you might be feeling, like an inadequacy or something. I'm on other sites with a lot of mac owner who have some of the newest, biggest and baddest stuff and multiple systems and homes. I always feel welcome in a mac owners group. I can't say that here outside of the mac group, I get far far more revers snobbery from non owners, and vintage owners.

Now just because you have something with a mac name on it doesn't mean anything really, not everything they have is the greatest.

He sure was proud of that thing.

Maybe it's owners pride in what they have that the OP is seeing and feeling. Instead of the feeling of people gushing over his stuff like he does it feels like they're are snobs about his stuff.

Personally for me I don't care what others have or don't have, but I'lll sure as hell post 1000s of photos of my gear. But I also don't feel the need to post every single thing I buy and talk about price and so forth to feel a part of or to have something to say and post.

Could easily have been the reaction from equipment owners of any high end manufacturer, not just McIntosh. Sounds to me like you stumbled upon the wrong crowd who also happen to own McIntosh.

The MA6200 is a fine and well regarded integrated amplifier as worthy of the McIntosh name as any other. Enjoy it it good health.

Yes, it is really hard to get all excited and proud about somebody else's stuff, even if it is exactly the same as your stuff.

I thought of you as a "snob" Mac owner and laughed out loud, you are the farthest thing from a snob I can think of.
Trust things are going well out there.

I was going to PM you as I haven't seen you much, thinking you might not be feeling well. But then thought that "Other Site" that they suppress opinions is taking up your time these days.

I'm fine thanks for asking...
