MD, DC, VA AK'ers Mini fest sometime?

Count me in

I'll throw the Weber in the back of the pick 'em up, and I can swing by a funky old country grocery just off 32 (intersection of 108 & 216) that has a *great* meat counter -- they make their own sausages -- on my way to Thistledome II.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty much booked with equestrian-related stuff every weekend through April, but I could make it in May (which is a good month...)

I'm going to subscribe to this thread so I don't miss out ...

I'm in Mclean and...

I would love to show up or could contemplate hosting. My house isn't huge but the basement is pretty good sized.

I would also be interested if some folks wanted to consider a regular get together.

Welcome to AK!

Glad to have you join us!

I'm curious, mainly because of your location in Mclean...

Is there a chance that you're the guy with whom I swapped a Yammie YP-211 TT for the busted CA-1000?

Steve A.

Yep. That's me. I've been lurking for awhile, but for some reason on my previous ID I couldn't post. I'm glad it's fixed now.

Is the amp running now?

looking forward

It's Spring!
I'll be looking forward to this gathering. It'll be great to meet some more AK'ers, and hopefully some people will bring out some interesting gear to listen to. :smoke: :music:

NoVaMike: Yes, the CA-1000 is back in operation thanks to the Merrylander Touch. As I recall it was a bad solder joint somewhere -- took a few hours of bench time to find it. He also fabricated a pretty nifty toggle switch...

All: Is it time to start bouncing around possible dates? [I'm hoping for sometime in May myself...]

If you want a social gathering downtown let me know. With gear its robs call on the date or anyone else that wants to host. I'll help in any way is needed. Bringing gear to my place would be a pain.

I may be over that direction, and can bring the rolling jukebox if you guys plan on having this event within the next 30-45 days.

Gotta put the Yammie preamp back in the shop, so I'll be hitting Audio Clinic.

I'll keep posted on your progress, and would be nice to meet some of the MD AK'rs.

Hmmm...how the hell did I miss this thread until now??

I'd love to host, but there's no way I could unless wifey is away. Let's just say that she doesn't share the same, um, fascination I have with vintage gear.

I'd love to meet you all and swap tall ones and tall stories...however, this is my 'busy season' with my baseball team. Looking forward to hearing of a firmed up date and seeing if I can fit it in.

I've been watching the AKer population swell around here over the past few years and wondering when we'd reach critical mass...

I'm still interested, but I'll defer to those folks with the ability to host (which I definitely do not have as we are in the middle of a remuddle) as to what date.

EAST COAST/ MD, VA, DC Meet

Since I started this thread in February I thought I would give it a bump . Similost has offered and is hosting a get together Sept 29 and you can see his post " East Coast Meet " . I am going to go unless something extremely pressing comes up. I have not Googled directions but he says it is near Mt. Vernon. It is a nice area and the end of Sept should be a great time for it. I am planning on bringing my Pioneer A-90 :thmbsp:and Yamaha CA-2010 :yes:amps and anything I have to sell/trade. :smoke:(Minimus 7 in wood orphan, Pioneer mini-comp set in black metal, not BPC, LP Notebooks :scratch2:(see AK Anniversary raffle gifts), etc. E mail him for directions. It's now or the Spring so let's do it. .

Hi, and thanks for bumping up the meet with this thread...

Cool to hear we've got another coming :) I had never seen this thread, but had heard it was talked about previously after I started the idea back up, which I never knew existed..

Glad to hear you're bringing some gear too :) Always nice to get to listen to something different and see how things sound :thmbsp:

If you and anyone else coming sends me a PM, I'll give you my address and phone number.

I would rather do it like that, because then I know how many are seriously coming, and I can plan on food and drinks accordingly... DOn't want to get caught with too little ya know

Also, everyone remember, if you are coming a distance, or want to indulge as you see fit, I've got pleanty of room for people to stay the night. We're the kind that will start the party in the morning, and will finish up when the last one drops, so look for a good time, and leave your watches at home
