Thank you that helped yes this receiver is amazing I know it's not name brand but it's something else if you can get your hands on one I would I recommend it makes my Pioneer 99 speakers sing! Thanks again for your input

Nationals show up every once in a while on AK.

Somebody found a solid state integrated amp about a year ago, New In Box NIB, circa early '70s.

Can you post a picture of yours ?

It's kind of hard to get through your posts due to the lack of punctuation. Anyway, just one small comment about this statement:
I know it's not name brand
National, National Panasonic, Panasonic, Technics, and others, are all brand names of the Panasonic Corporation (until 2008 Matsushita Corporation), which is the largest technology company in Japan. They are anything but a no-name brand; under the "Technics" label, they have produced (and still do) some of the best audio equipment there is, including the SL-1000 turntable, SP-02 cutting lathe, SE-A1 and SU-A2 pre- and power amplfiers, SB-10000 speakers, RS-1800 reel-to-reel tape recorder, and many others, to name a few. Pioneer, even Sony, get dwarfed behind Panasonic in terms of number of employees.

Your particular unit, the SA-6800X, was an up-the-line CD-4 receiver from the early 1970s—top build quality and great design. Further up the scale were models like the SA-8500X, which were even larger. As such, you will be able to get a lot of enjoyment out of your receiver; it does not even remotely have to hide behind hyped models like the Sansui 9090. However, as with most gear from the 1970s, one just should not expect ultra-low distortion figures, 120dB signal-to-noise ratios or enormous power reserves. Nonetheless, sonic-wise the machine will perform just as well as other half-decent or above amps/receivers, given it works within specifications.

Yes, what he said. It ain't a no name unit.

Let's hope he learns to write sentences and even paragraphs if he needs to convey a lot of information as I don't read big blocks of text. More like reading oldschool newspaper, each statement can be its own paragraph and it is much easier to read.

In that case I would like to apologise, given that I misunderstood.

Anyway, the SA-6800X is a great piece of history! While Technics clearly had their innovation peaks in the years 1978 to about 1984, the very early devices (1967-1974) are very intriguing indeed, and the SA-6800X belongs to that era.
For measure, here's a shot of my rare, but beautiful SU- and ST-3600 integrated amplifier and tuner, released from about 1970 to 1973:

Here's my 1971 or 1972 Panasonic SA-5800 (some of them say "National Panasonic" on the face plate). I picked this up on eBay for a good price because it's the same receiver my dad had from just before I was born. I associate all of my earliest music listening experiences with it. Amazing build quality, nice sound, but only 27wpc @ 8ohms - sounds great at reasonable listening levels. Ebay searching reveals there was a lower powered SA-5500. How do the 5500/5800 relate to the 6800? Anyone else on AK have one of these?

ok, I add my National Panasonic babies. I posted some details of its restauration (SA-6400X) in another thread. I have Sansui 890DB too, of course it overperforms by far on higher levels. The only difference is that Panasonic has absolutely zero noise, which makes it a big pleasure to listen it on low levels, so I listen Panasonic more daily, it is more pleasure...
