This isn't about detecting minute audible differences, what I'm interested in is a supplier for low-cost RCA male to 1/4" TS male cables with a good quality RCA plug that will grip securely.
My Hafler DH-200 power amp inputs (both units) always seem to be slightly smaller than cheapo RCA cords are made for and the cables fit poorly. I have a very old set of Monster Cable RCAs (please no grief, I was a kid when I bought them) that actually do a wonderful job of fitting securely into the DH-200 input jacks.
RCA-RCA is easy enough to come by, but I may be using this Furman crossover to feed the amps and it has 1/4" jacks. I could just use RCA to 1/4" adapters, which I have in abundance, but I'd prefer to use dedicated, hard-wired cables if they can be found at a reasonable price.
I thought Monoprice might have something along the lines of a Premium cable of that type, but I don't see one.
The back up plan will be to buy some RCA-RCA cables and just clip them and install 1/4" plugs on the clipped ends.
Any suggestions would be welcome!
Cheers,
Otto
