Yeah, I saw that also. Too many speakers in the house right now, or I'd already be on the way to pick those up. These are a steal!

Jeez, what a deal! The only way I could buy those would be to immediately hop on an SR-71, then fly at Mach 3 to Connecticut, charter a helocopter to the sellers house, then run at lightning speed past 5 other potential buyers, whip out a freshly minted $50 dollar bill and make the purchase. But that's unlikely to happen since my SR-71 is in the shop.

I bet they would clean up nicely. The grills are weathered but a good cleansing and a can of black spray paint and they would come around (don't laugh, a feathered coat of paint works like a charm)

She wants em gone and he has had his fill of them, great price. Gonna need 4 of those better tweeters.

I'd sure like to try em. Never had a big set of Polks.

Thanks guy's. The guy just called me back and said he just got a call and someone offered him $100 if he would blow off the deal he made with me. He asked me what I would do?????? I said I would stick with our deal but they are his so he could do what he wants. After a few seconds he said he would honor our deal. I hope it wasn't someone here that tried to undercut me but it really doesn't matter because he is keeping our deal. I wouldn't try and have never tried doing something like that. Some people just don't care though. I will post tomorrow when I get them and let you guy's know what I think.

Well I picked them up and just got home. He did have the cable that goes with them. They need some cleaning but the drivers are all in excellent condition with no issues. I will get some work done on them this weekend and try and get some pics up and also a little review on how I like them. Thanks again.

Wonderful news Tom and I'm glad to hear the seller was a man of his word:thumbsup:. Welcome to SDA land and I'm looking forward to your listening impressions.

Well I got the panels glued on and got them set up today and decided to give them a shot with some Pat Benatar Precious Time on vinyl and I love the sound. Overall they sound great with my Onkyo M-504. The Midrange stands out to me as being very full and clear and the bass is definitely good enough. The treble needed a little adjustment from my pre-amp but not much to make it sound crisp and clear. So far so good and I am happy with my $50 purchase. NICE!!!!!

Thanks MarZutra I think this might be the best deal I ever got for $50. They sound great.:)

I'm glad to hear that you're happy with your new Polks. I thought the 504 would work out well with them as I had my 508 running my 1.2tl's a few years back and found it to be a great sounding match up.
How's the placement on them? Hopefully you're able to get them 3' away from either sidewall?

I have them pointing straight out about 8" from the back wall with no toe in at all. They are away from the side walls at least 3' maybe a touch more and the really sound great. Have you heard about having to glue the mids back in place? Someone mentioned that I should do that ASAP.

That's an excellent start on your basic set up Tom. If you can do it try to make sure your equipment doesn't stick out beyond the plane of your speakers also.
Yes he's talking about gluing the magnets to keep them from shifting. That's not a bad idea and it's easy to do. There's plenty of info on it on the polk forum. Then you have hurricane nuts, basket damping and armaflex gaskets that you should also do while you have the drivers out. You're on the right track now and these speakers will really reward you with just a few simple mods.

OK, But these speakers sound great are all those things necessary or are they just things that people do to tweak the sound? I hate ripping speakers apart if I don't have to.
