I saw Jeff Foxworthy and friends last night on the TV and he/they did a lot of "Redneck" humour as a part of the act and I was wondering about that and if it is an American thing because here in Canada it's actually always "Hoser" that is used in much the same way here's a few examples "If you go ice-fishin' with a shotgun you may be a Hoser.....If you have a beer while eating your eggs and back bacon then you are a Hoser" and so on and so forth.Any thoughts you might have on this?:):thmbsp:

Well, "rednecks" are everywhere. Jeff's own definition of a redneck is a "glorious absence of sophistication." So even though the redneck thing is mainly American, your Canadian hosers can enjoy the same recognition if they'd like.

Red necks are everywhere, not just in the U.S. The're just called other names in different countries. :D

Agreed on that. The Americans in the south undeservedly get a bad rap, but there are hicks/rednecks everywhere. I guess up in Canada it's harder to get a sunburn on your neck. :D

Rednecks are everywhere. Even in urban areas you find rednecks. I'm sure Canada has them too. Ever seen the Red Green Show?
