Well, it's obviously not a genuine V15VMR or V15VxMR stylus, but it will fit [the xMR] and make sound, and it has a Hyperelliptical stylus, and it's not vastly overpriced.

The photo looks like it has the fatter of Shure's two sizes of metal shanks. So it could replace a VN5x stylus in a V15xV cartridge -- as claimed in the ad's description. But it will NOT fit into a V15V cartridge -- as suggested by the ad's headline. That little "x" makes a world of difference.

As usual, just because it fits doesn't mean it'll perform. For one thing, it doesn't have the damper brush. And it almost certainly doesn't have the Be foil cantilever of Shure's original Type Vs.
 
For me it a matter of what he dosent say about the stylus. Who makes it , where, its new to them, ect. For 15.00 worth a try maybe but 50.00 with no info on it, no thanks. Plus his feedback isnt stellar.
 
He has three feedbacks related to this item: 2 saying it didn't fit, and one saying it's fine. Good call, everyone!
 
Do NOT buy stylus off e-bay. The only modern v15 compatible stylus worth considering is Jico SAS.

NOS stylus for that cartridge usually priced over $500, and there is no guarantee of it being really new.
 
Disagree emphatically!! There are a few very reputable sellers on ebay who consistently offer true New Old Stock cartridges and styli that are not available from the usual internet sources. Said dealers will fully inspect their product under a scope and stand behind them in full. Often they can be rather expensive but just like buying NOS vintage car parts, the law of supply and demand comes into play. I have found that nothing beats the originals- some aftermarket styli may be very good but will still sound different from what was intended by the original engineers. NOS Genuine Shure VN5HE and VN5MR styli usually run in the $250 to $350 range. Plus you want to try to find those made in the USA -the quality seems to have dropped off once Shure began to outsource production to Mexico.
