Sony STR-DE525 center channel removal

I have this receiver that the center channel is bad (emitter resistor open, transistor bad). I desoldered the output transistors and the unit works fine now, just without a center channel. If I decide to just leave it like that, should I do any other cleanup? For instance, do I need to worry about a speaker being connected to the center channel output? Should I remove the transistors completely or is desoldering the leads good? As you can probably tell, I am very new at this, so I want some guidance on the best practice with this situation.

I would probably remove them, or at least cut the leads short. That way in the future if someone went inside, they wouldn't try to reconnect them. But it shouldn't make any difference it they are in there or not if they are disconnected.

Thanks for the reply. I think I might spend the money and see if I can fix the center channel.

A little back story on this receiver. I asked my tool salesman if he had any older non-working stereo equipment that I could practice on and he brought me 3 receivers from the 90s / early 2000s that he had stored in his garage. I assumed he wanted them back. When he stopped in last week, I asked him if he wanted me to buy parts to repair the center channel. He told me the receivers were mine now and to do what I want with them :)
