Waiting for Vintage Gear from this century
I haven't participated much in this forum. Too hard to get a picture of everything I listen to as there is a window behind the tt and that would mean I need to learn how to take a decent picture...and I have been listening to a lot of CDs lately, for years.
Five or more years ago a friend, Tom Clone, sent my a couple boxes of CDs. Before that I picked up about 160 CDs from CLfree or something and more recently I got another shipment from Tom, an abandonment of 220 CDs from Eric and a pick up of about 115 CDs from a nearby town. This adds up to over 1800 CDs I had not heard.
When I got the first pile from Tom it took me some time to figure out what to do. Finally landed on loading the upgraded Sony CDP-C705 and pushing play and while listening, listing the discs and rating them in Discogs. Alphabetized, grab 5, load the changer and press go. Sounds good with the new output chip in it. Did the same with the changer in the bedroom and car but they take longer to go through a stack of CDs. But I'm getting there.
Here is the problem with posting in this forum. Where to post? Five discs can be different genres and each Today's Playlist has a specific genre mentioned. Watching PTI the other day, listening not watching, mostly, I had time to search this forum for "Today's" in the title and get the listing. There were only 8 pages of threads so I made this list.

Which of Today's bands will be Tomorrow
Looking through the list I might have found a place to post. The "Today's New to You Playlist" might be it. I usually load 5 I haven't heard and put dups of what I have aside. So it can be and has been all new to me music.
Then I looked into the different genres of music and we all know this list is endless. A new album could come out and have tunes in 4-5 previously unnamed genres.
Just look at one of the wiki listings for genre: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_music_genres_and_styles
So fortunately there is that catchall new to me music so I don't have to determine (or read on discogs) what the genre of what I'm hearing is. I have about 200 new to me CDs that I have not heard that could be posted. 21 or them are Miles Davis.
