Hello everyone!

Reddit has a subreddit called "unpopular opinion". The idea is that it's a forum allowing one to make their case for an opinion that might otherwise get drowned out in a cacophony of group-think.

So, with that said, post something that goes against the grain, and briefly make your argument.

Here's mine -

I think the much lauded solo at the end of "Layla" is just two guys out of their minds on drugs, noodling and hoping something great comes out.

Repetitive, boring, and most of the time out of tune and wandering.

Playing now for 35 years is my acumen.

Your turn.....

The long-believed assertion that Jim Gordon wrote the piano part at the end of "Layla" may not be true. There is evidence the riff existed earlier, perhaps written by Gordon's then girlfriend, Rita Coolidge.

A wonderful cover, roger2. Everybody should listen to more of their stuff.

Also, they are all living dolls.

I like the Project Debut Carbon, and don't think the the Ortofon Red is that bad a cart.
I put my one subwoofer in the only corner available, and don't think it sounds that bad.
I really can't stand anything Led Zeppelin has done...individually or collectively.
I've never heard a JBL or Klipsch speaker I liked enough to listen to again.

I'll take this a step further, and submit that the final chorus should 8 bars at the most, and the coda removed entirely. It goes absolutely nowhere. A tight 3 and a half minutes total, max.

never heard of the barberettes.....awsome.....i can't watch american idol or the voice because they just don't have the voices like you had to have back in the day.....like ronstadt, sinatra, denver, ann murray, 50's, 60's, doo wops......they had to have clear, distinct , note hitting voices..........unlike today where slurring your words is considered talent....
