UNUSUAL speaker designs

HOORAY !...ELECTRICITY !
Very curious about any speaker drivers with non-traditional mechanics or composition. Tweeters, super-tweeters, mids, mid-bass, woofer, subs. Some intriguing examples may be : Heil, Walsh, stats, HPM etc mechanics types and berylium, titanium, bamboo, wood etc composition types. Also, horns loaded with any non-trad elements, or any unusual speaker designs. Looking for innovative, different ideas, even the oddest. Interested in what's out there past or present. Please show photos or pictorials !

Okay. How about, no moving mass whatsoever?

Earthquake "Titan" series Telesto & Tigro speakers look like they are all business.

There's the whole "resonant panel principal" type, typified by Yamaha, Sumo, Meitner, & BES, that use "acoustic hammers" to excite a resonant panel (Wood, Styrofoam, or Mylar).

I'd consider any of the "ionic driver" speakers to be pretty unusual too. Aside from the Nelson Pass model already mentioned, there was the Hill Plasmatronic, and Magnat's "Magnesphere" too. From what I heard, the Pass speaker ionized the air badly enough to put Nelson Pass in the hospital, and I remember getting a sinus head ache after only listening to the full range Hill for several minutes! Not exactly practical.
