WASAPI sounds distorted using foobar and certain songs

I know this is a strange situation and i don't know where to ask. I will explain step by step so you who reads it understands it clearly.

Problem ~ When i play songs with high singing notes the sound gets distorted. I thought it was because i was using Tube emulator and then later on i moved on to tube amp. Just now i figured out it wasn't the tube emulator or the tubes. I stopped using tube emulator after i got my tube amp and still it was there. Again i thought it was a tube thing. Just now i discovered it wasn't the tubes or the tube emulator does this. it is WASAPI.

My system ~ Foobar, Kovacs - My love.flac song, Wasapi, -----> CSR Bluetooth Dongle ----> Ugreen bluetooth receiver ---- > Tube preamp 6n3 matisse clone ---> Marantz SR73 Ol' solid state receiver ---- > Marantz Tower speakers.

(Sorry if my system sounds super stupid noob :D)

That's how it goes. So once i start playing songs through "Directsound Bluetooth driver" the distortion goes away.

Any idea why this is happening with WASAPI?

** Reason why i use wasapi because it sounds significantly louder and clearer than directsound driver.

The aim here is to isolate the problem to one of the devices first before going any further. What happens if you pull the bluetooth stuff out of the signal chain as a start?

Cheers,

David

Thanks David for your reply. Alright here is what i did.... I removed everything and connected the tube preamp to the computers onboard soundcard directly.

Setup ~ Foobar "Kovacs - My love.flac" - Soundmax soundcard (HD onboard) - 6J1 Tube Pre amp - Panasonic RP-HTX7 headphones.

So no bluetooth, directly connected to the computer. But that distortion comes in high pitch areas of the song when i use WASAPI. When i use directsound, everything is normal. So it can't be bluetooth right?. When i use wasapi and foobar it sounds as if the song is driving at full volume where speakers can't handle. Kind of like a overdrive sort of distortion. That is the best way i can explain it.

Probably nothing to do with your issue. I had a set of speakers that had weird distortions only with acoustic guitar using reverb on certain notes. This was very audible and had me stumped. Turns out the screws holding the cover plate which also held the voice coils in place on the tweeters where loose.
