What is your Klipsch quotient?

Maybe this will be fun for a day or so...

What is your Klipsch quotent? What percent of your life have you owned them?

I discovered Klipsch (LaScalas & Khorns) in 1978 when I was 18 years old. The next year, 1979, I bought a pair of LaScalas. I still own that pair of LaScalas and am currently 49. So...

2010-1979=31 years

31/49=63.26% of my life, I've owned the same pair of speakers. (I've owned my EV's even longer :thmbsp:) (I'll be 50 soon, so maybe I should use that instead of 49 which brings my quotient down to 62%)

You guys who were BORN into a family using Klipsch speakers are cheaters! :D

I picked up my KP301s about 18 months ago. I think I have an active crossover on the way - woohoo! I have a feeling that these babies will be with me for awhile. Of course, I'll have to live until I am 92 in order to hit 50%.

Bought my first pair - KG-3.2s - about a year and a half ago. Second pair (La Scalas) about 5 months ago. (1.5/51)*100=2.94%. You can be damn sure I'm striving to make 50%!

Bought a set of Kg4's in 1985 when I was 17. Bought the Cornwall II's the next year. Still have both sets, listening to the Cornwall's now!

So, 2010-1985=25/42=.595238 so if we round up.......60% of my life :music:

Got my Fortes 15 months ago so a measly 2.8%, I am working on the future though. Next month it will be 3.0%. :D

Bought my Chorus II's in 1990 and I am now 50, so 40%. I have since added Heresys, Cornwalls and Fortes, etc...

Stock Fortes, about 8yrs, modified over the last 7yrs I've owned many speakers, Advents, Magnapan's ,AR LST's, Dahlquist DQ 10's, Acoustat Monitor X's with direct coupled tube amps and a few more. But these are the longest I've ever owned.

It took patience and modifications to get me where I am with them. But I have never been more thrilled and they far exceed what I was able to obtain from the above.

I'm 54yrs old.

Percentages: Klipsch = 0.5%, JBL's as the brand in our house 69.3%, My L112's 57%

Story: I flew to Texas about 4 weeks ago and arranged to drive a small Penske truck back to Portland with some old audio gear and musical instruments that my dad gave me. I was staying at my sisters and the neighbors across the street had been trying (obviously not hard) to get rid of their Cornwalls. They just wanted $300.00 and the speakers were consecutive serial numbers, in almost perfect shape and had all the original paperwork with them. I thought, I'll buy them and flip them and pay for part of my trip. I hooked them up 3 weeks ago to test them out and they are still hooked up and aren't going anywhere. I'm glad I'm open minded.
