You can pay more than that just for a pair of high end speakers, and there is a whole lot more that goes into a Concert Steinway. The Steinway sounds like a real steal!

I have never heard a audio system that can sound exactly like a piano. I come to the conclusion that what goes on in the recording studio and the mixing of music is the governor of what our systems sound like. Think of the best TV you have ever seen and than what you experience in the real world.

No matter how you dice it 2000-2005 is now considered vintage, the opinions a few old farts on an audio forum won't change that

For video equipment, everything pre-2010 is vintage.

When an audio device or solution is conceived (and built) for ultimate fidelity and no costs are spared on use of materials either.
This to me defines high end audio gear.
