  • They have never been run in this setting as the Big-D has just granted me my stuff back. I found a new set of spec woof's and was considering changing both out. I was thinking about having you do the crossover mod, combining it with flush mounting and 6.7 owens box dampening.

I've built a couple cb amps in my old days. I know a little about pills, caps, potts, and such. Appreciation though, I'm old school, if you were my neighbor I'd be mowing your lawn.

Let me know how you want to do this and when you are ready. If you want me to mod the crossovers, it cost about $40 - $50 for the parts and return shipping. It's been a while since I did one and I'm sure prices have changed. I'll email you the cabinet damping info I have.

    What is your email address?
Anyway, I can upgrade but, unwilling too. It's not about money as much as it is about the speaker. The room they were in was carpet 15x25x8 and now it's vaulted 32x20x12 wood floors.
    Hi Dave,
Shaun Shaw here. I've a unique dilemma. One of my Bic DV62si's woofer had a magnet separate from the cage. I bought them in 2003. They are oem, along with the 62clr, 3 M-sr5's in the ceiling and RCA Pro-SW200 sub. Powered by a SA HE-200 6.1 Technics I bought new in 2003. Damn kids, well maybe it was me also but, they had it with out supervision for a while.
Hey again. Just realized I left out an email address for the BIC DV62si mod info. Thanks.

Hey, Dave. I've got a 15-year old pair of BIC DV62si's with the Ed Frias crossover mod that I recently pulled out of closet storage. When I pulled the grills off I discovered that the rubber dust caps on both 6-inch woofers were splitting and coming apart.Since I'll be pulling the woofers to replace the dust caps, I'd like to try your mods. Sounds like its just what I'm looking for.
Hi Dave, Nice Son of Ampzilla! Gotta love the GAS. I've owned a Godzilla, GAS500, Thalia, Thoebe, and Grandson. Soon to be getting a GASworks reference-modded Son, too. Nice to meet you.
My BIC DV62si crossover mod has seriously matured to the point of taking on a completely new sound. I don't think it can be any better. It now has an even warmer sound with ample bass. But the biggest improvement is in the midrange which makes the modded BICs have a realistic soundstage which is something the the stock version did not have. Not only is the harshness of the highs fixed, the tunnel sound of the mids is gone. These BICs have a nice dome tweeter which should not have to sound like a horn.

I have tuned this crossover mod to specifically enhance the mid-bass (and bass) for a warm, meaty sound that you can play loud and still have no fatigue. It's a complete redesign which makes the BICs very musical (all crossover components except coils are replaced and cabinet damping is extremely upgraded).

Let me know if you want to find out what the BIC DV62si's can do. I think everybody who owns these is in for a real surprise. Shoot me a PM.
