10" Woofers For Vintage Kenwood 4070

The man that sold me a vintage Kenwood KR 4070 said I should have speakers with at least 10" woofers. Do you agree with this?

I'm planning to run the 4070 with either my Boston Acoustics A100's or CR8's. These will be fine, won't they? The CR8's are on steel sand filled stands have a 7" woofer and the A100's have 8" woofers.

Just got the A100's today for $50 in nice shape. They sound freaking incredible. I love them. The bass is just right with them, tight, the way I want it to be.

He is full of $hit! You can run whatever you want to with that Kenny. Those BA's you got, although I have never heard them before, are quite popular and well liked. Enjoy! Just watch that volume knob!

Good to hear it.

He also said do not use a subwoofer with the KR4070. I don't plan to, and the 4070 probably has more bass response than I'm used to having.
