2026 College Basketball

I've been watching some college ball lately. Mainly Big Ten games, but also paying attention to who is doing well and whatnot.
I've seen some excellent games this year. Tonight I watched the Nebraska - Purdue game, and it was a real battle in the second half. Purdue pretty much was crushing Nebraska in the first half, but they came back from a 22 point deficit in the second half to get within 4 or 5 points, then fell behind again to double digits, and made another comeback to tie the game and send it to overtime. Purdue prevailed, but Nebraska is a tough team this year. I'd never count them out.
This should be a great tournament this year. There's a lot of talent and some great teams playing very well.

Escaped my Huskers by the skin if their teeth last night. And we were totally outclassed in almost every phase if the game. I thought Purdue was going to run away with it.

Still pulling for them Blue devils. They look to be every bit as good as last years team, however they're still showing that problem with not being able to close out games. Much like last years final 4 loss they're playing 33/34 minutes of great basketball, 4 or 5 of good enough ball then 2 or 3 of what are you doing.
I am also enjoying NC state this year. They should have beat Miami last night, after taking a 7 point lead with less than 50 seconds they could not inbound the ball. When they did their best free throw shooter missed the first of a 1 and 1 that would have put them up 4 with around 10 seconds to go. Then fouled on a 3 pt shot that didn't even come close.

You found me. My renewed interest in NCAA basketball may have something to do with UVA knowing how to win games this year.
Arizona pretty much took over the game after I mentioned it was back to even. Houston could get back within a few points, but just could never quite gain the upper hand.
Then there's the Mich - Duke game. Duke looks good, and Boozer is crazy good. Michigan didn't look very sharp throughout the later part of the second half, even though they would get close, but like Houston, just made a few too many mistakes.
However, I'd say these four are going to be a challenge for anyone in the tournament. This is a year of parity and great competition. I'm sure there will be some bracket busters (or I hope so, anyhow) to mix things up.

I watched some of the second half of that 'Nova game, about the time that UConn was beginning to build a lead. Tarris Reed Jr is a big presence that can really take over a game at times.
