American Monitor Model 12

I have several pairs of American Monitors. There is VERY LITTLE information about the American Monitor brand on the web. Do you have pics?

I have the 8s and 10s and the Studio monitors. I can't find any data on the web. What shape are you's in? How do they sound? I don't think AM lasted very long at all.

Thinking about buying them. Haven't heard them yet. How do you rate yours? Are they worth looking at? I'm also looking at a mixed pair of Acoustic Reasearch AR-2a/2axs. Those are nice - good base, great mids, a little weak on the highs. The AM 12s, look to be copies of JBL L100s.

If you can get them cheap, then go for it. They are good sounding speakers but there are no replacement parts. I am refoaming my 10 using genaric replacement surrounds.

I know Fretter Appliance used to sell them. Not bad speakers.

Remember them because they had the white woofers.
