Any experiences with the Pioneer VSX-3300?

A second-hand shop near me is selling a Pioneer VSX-3300 for $40 USD. Currently, I have one of these https://www.parts-express.com/21-hi-fi-class-d-audio-amplifier-board-2-x-15w-30w-10-18-vdc--320-608 as my amplifier. I have two speakers (each with a tweeter and a woofer) and a subwoofer hooked up to it. So, my questions are:

  1. Is this price fair?

  2. Would this be an upgrade?

  3. And finally, how would I go about connecting everything, if I were to buy either one? There doesn't seem to be anywhere on the rear https://i.imgur.com/DncyMs4.png of the Pioneer.

$40 is fine if it is working. As far as connectors, there are plenty on the back there. Look at it again. I had the VSX-1000 and while it was working it was okay, not great. When it died on me I went inside and tried to find the problem. Inside I found 4 cards that were mounted horizontally. It was on the bottom card there was a heat damaged area that was nearly impossible to get into. I finally gave up on trying to fix it. Pioneer should have mounted the cards vertically. At $40 you don't have a lot to lose and I would not expect much from the Pioneer. Good luck.

Thank you. The seller is also offering a Optonica SA-5407 for $50, what are your thoughts on it vs. the Pioneer?
 
Yeah, I'm necroposting. Maybe I should have started a new thread.

But...........DOES anybody have experience with this receiver? The Pioneer VSX-3300? I just bought one off eBay, for $11! Came to almost triple that with shipping and tax;):p. It is going to arrive here tomorrow according to tracking. I think I might have fun with it. I need to find an appropriate set of speakers for it and the room.
