No, normal way of adjusting headshell with screw while turntable off. Use a small bubble level to make sure headshell is level. I guess my joke didn't come out right. :D

One needs to account for the weight of the bubble level --- so that the tracking force is the what you will be using in practice.
You can check the azimuth across the record.

The top of headshell should be parallel to the record surface. Not slanted like some headshells.

Have a 3" long bubble level that I lay on top of headshell, fits between screws. Lower the arm only until the stylus makes contact with record and look at level. When it's perfectly level, that's my starting point. Most of the time the arm pivot end is a hair up for best sound.
