Decware SEWE300B "Zen Sarah Amplifier" 300B

Just saw this ad on USAudiomart for just-arrived Decware SEWE300B Sarah amp, and what's disturbing is the owner of brand-new amp he waited a long time seems to be selling it right away due to "more hum than I am used to hearing."

"I have a new Decware SEWE300B Sarah in walnut for sale. Current wait time on Decware amps is 3 years, 3 months. I have 102db efficient speakers, and they reveal everything. I have a small listening room and sit about 8 feet from my speakers. There is more hum than I am used to hearing. When music is playing, the hum is inaudible. There is nothing wrong with the amp; the sound is amazing. I have less than 20 hours on the amp; it isn't even burned in yet."

Let's give a timeline of my order for SEWE300B Sarah 300B amp which I placed on 1/2023. Being a tube head, and my LOVE for tube gear, I ordered a SEWE300B Sarah amp at Decware 1/2023. During this time, and 2 Emails about upgraded external parts (Top Plate Black with Polished Copper Transformer covers) I received an Email Friday (4/18/26) that my order is really to be built. Invoice paid and we are now in the batter's box.
I look forward once this is shipped and arrives to my home with lots of pictures of this awesome 300B Amp. Stay tuned.....

Im not allowed to say how i feel about them in my system. Too many here thinks its snake oil and get upset. More of the best tubes for me and you.

Can probably partly blame me for that. I think its a bunch of nonsense and have said as much. People have gotten upset at that too. Tubes may sound different but I don't think deep freezing them has any real use. If there was, RCA would have been doing it 60 years ago.

Hi Guys,

So, at this point we've now heard both pro and anti opinions on the so called "cryo" tubes. Now, and I say this with all due respect to the holders of both opinions, I will ask politely that the "Cryo" tube subject be put to rest here as it really has no bearing on Joe's amp and the delay he is experiencing.

The asking price is 10% more than Decware’s current MSRP, but don’t know if Decware is charging for shipping and they probably do charge sales tax.

That's pretty loud! Nice clean listening room, I take it those two platforms are already ready for your new amps.

I have my eyes on a new pair of amps but one drawback, they are in Canada. Seller doesn't want to ship, and I have only done one trans-border deal, and it wasn't very good, customs went thru the box and then just stuffed everything back in the box without wrapping it, needless to say the tubes were not happy. And these mono's are near 100lb's each.

I would drive up there, but I think my wife wouldn't be happy, as I already have enough amps and gear to supply half of AK, she just doesnt understand madness

Not surprised the MSRP has gone up since placing your order. Base price is now $4900.

Revenue doesn’t always equate to profit, but Steve D. Is probably doing OK.

My post was referring to the OP and was just a joke.

But so many of the old items that we cherish when you look at what they cost when new compared to now, even though it seemed expensive at the time, but 40 years after purchase and using it all that time a person can now sell if for much more than they paid for it. And I don't even need to go back very far, when I used to think prices were high for old Marantz gear, or Mcintosh stuff, even the big receivers, just 20 years ago before this hobby really caught on.

To be honest, pretty much any good amp should sound fabulous on the Volti Lucera! I do run 110dB sensitive horns straight from amp's output without passive crossover, so things like noise and hum can be problematic. Being a typical OCD audiofool, If my amp was being built, I would probably shoot Steve a polite email along the lines of 'Hi, FYI I use high sensitivity horns and would greatly appreciate it if my unit could be tested thoroughly to make sure it's hum and noise are within spec before shipping. Much appreciated.'

They test after each build.

If they do, they should have caught that the headphone jack in my Decware amp doesn't work. Acts like it is not even wired up, didn't catch this until years after receiving the amp. I've not looked inside to see because the amp doesn't mute the speaker outputs when the HP jack is plugged in. That was not well thought out in my opinion.

I’ve owned several Decware products over the years. Mostly from back in a time when their demand was more reasonable so the wait was more like months than years. These are truly heirloom products built 100% by hand with the kind of care we just don’t see in our hobby in modern times. The internal workmanship has to be seen to be appreciated. Truly a piece of art.
