So picked up the P7 for Christmas. So having owned the headphone amp for just over a month and have done some tube rolling I can now report back on my experience!
So with the stock Russian tubes the amp ran hot! Sound was very good but I just felt it could do better. After googling the amp I noticed a few stores were selling the amp with upgraded tubes. One upgrade I saw a couple of times was replacing the power tube with a Mullard 680 and the pre-amp tubes with two Tung Sol Electric 5670's. So I choose this route for the tube upgrades. Richer sound is what I found. Also the amp does not now run as hot.
I think if you are considering a tube headphone amp but don't have a big budget then the P7 is a very good choice. Some pics below!
