Picked these up at the flea market today, don't know much about them. I've heard of the Timeframes, and Timewindows,by DCM,but not these. There DCM KX-12 series II. For $25.00 bucks,if there not good for in the house, the'll make good garage speakers. Anybody know anything about them? Thanks Dave.

Nice looking speakers, especially for $25. Found some info on the web about them,

3-way transmission line speaker in a black cabinet
12" Woofer, 6" Mid and 0.75" Horn-style Tweeter
250 Watts Maximum Power
8 OHMS
Video-Shielded Drivers
Overload Protection
MSRP: $600

I'd say you did excellently!

I found a post on the forum about the original ones I suppose, not the series 2 that you have.

For $25, you don't have much to lose. The KX series are not the best effort for DCM. Let us know what you think when you get them fired up.

lettering on the woofer is never a good sign
Neither is trolling.;)

Very good party speakers you have there. I have two pair of the series ones (four ohms). They have fuses so when you get heavy handed at the fiesta, you don't pop a driver. They don't really lack mids/highs, but IMO, there's more bass than you need. Good score!

I have an orphan one of those. I'd sell the drivers if needed. It sounds ok I guess. The thing is too big to ship!

DCM changed it's business model after the CX series, and were carried in Best Buy as a fun affordable (though still not cheap) speaker.

Not bad for $25- I see them sell often for $50 on craigslist- so keep and enjoy them or flip them and make a bit of cash.

DCM made some great stuff in their early days.

Hey KingBubba, I gave a 4 hour listening set to the DCM'S today. Surprisingly, there not bad. Gave a listen to everything from Lawrence Welk,to some country, and a lot of Rock & Roll. Even a little Tommy Dorsey, and the big band. Good mids/highs,and great lows. On some music, the highs and mids got a little harsh, but not to bad. All in all, they did ok. Dave:music:
