How do I connect the shield for the power wire to my turntable?

I am going to run a longer power wire to my turntable from the transformer. It's a 12vac setup and I want it to be shielded since it will be running next to my tonearm leads. I am going to use some canare quadstar that I have sitting around. My question is, how do I connect the shield to make it effective? There is no ground at the transformer, just a two prong cord. I could convert to 3 prong setup if needed though.

Thanks!

a shield just needs to be grounded at one side. I would play around with grounding it to different places on the table, as you dont want to introduce noise.

Grounding a shield at both sides can cause ground loops

Well, what side do I want it grounded at I guess is the question I have. Thanks for the warning on the loops!
