If y'all see Rich roaming the halls

AMEN!!! Thinking about you buddy and sending prayers for your return to health and well-being. So much we take for granted......until we don't......and then it's all about faith and the comfort of those around us who we come to see as the reasons to believe. We're around, man, so just know that and rest easy amigo......today is a special day and may it mark the beginning of better times for you. Again, AMEN!

Back in the "Arena" I see, with Hope on the horizon.

You've been through enough "hell" in this life, so you're sure to get a pass on the place below.

Keep up the positive thinking, Rob, and I know it's a struggle most days and beyond my ability to appreciate.

Yer still with us, and... that's what counts, eh?

Prayers and good wishes are in abundance, man.

Keep the faith!

Hello, I have been following your story since I saw it yesterday. I want you to know that I am pulling for you brother! You have that good spirit and attitude that it is going to get you through this!

From your posts it seems you have been experiencing problems with our healthcare system. I’m from Houston and we have in my opinion the best Cancer treatment center in the world at MD Anderson.

Surely it can't get worse. My capabilities diminished rapidly, to the point i could no longer get up vertical. I do not know how long i slept. All i could do at that point was crawl. My brother called in a welfare check.Sheriff and ambulance arrived and brought me to the emergency room. Somehow, i fractured my back, contracted pneumonia and mrsa, had internal abcesses that have been drained from my back, and there are some places on my liver they're concerned with. Now i find out they are going to scope my heart valves.

As soon as they get me healthy enough to discharge, im headed to a Skilled Nursing Facility. Medicare covers 100% days 1 through 20, and 21 through 100 i would have a copay.

The pain meds are kicking in, im off to nap time.

Prayers are always going out to you from my house. They told me my eyebrows and beard would fall off but they didn't. When the doctor noted that I still had them I told him "Oh, they did fall off but I crazy glued them back on." He believed me for a second and then smiled. Don't give up your sense of humor or hope. They are still there with you when you need them. God Bless, Rob.

Someone stole my slice of chocolate pie!!

Just kidding. I'm having a small bit of fun with my current situation. My pastor came to visit earlier, and we read some from the Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. Quite boring to be laid up, but im regaining my strength. I am thankful my brother called in a welfare check, i had no clue my back was fractured, and my infections had roared back to life but this time they had picked up a hitchhiker named MRSA.

Medicare has me at a skilled nursing facility, it is 100% covered by my insurance, unfortunately, they (insurance) cannot cover my radiation/chemo treatments too. So once I am done with the 20 days, I'm paying 100% out of pocket for a decent hotel which provides me with roll-in shower, housekeeping, and is affordable. Then i can resume my insurance covered treatments (radiation = 17 @ 5 days per week, Labs/Chemo is four left @ 1 per week) and can utilize a driver/laundry person for a month.

I should be ringing the remission bells and be cancer-free. No more feeding tube, tracheostomy, or other life-interrupting changes.

The recent activities hit my stocks perfectly, pushing a small but welcome profit into my portfolio and freed up a nice slice of green pie to afford this endeavor. I am tired, and am wrapping up for the evening (shut-eye).
