IMF TLS-50MkII's - Time to operate!

I really appreciate this thread! I've had my 50 mk2's (and 80 mk2's) for a couple of years, and I've been slowly procuring bits a pieces to completely refurbish them both. Winter is almost here, and my next project will be the 50's... I've been using them as my living room speakers since I got them, so I know they work (pretty damned well), but I don't know what I'll find inside..

Anyway, thanks again for sharing your repair journey on here!

Hi all. Just found this old thread. Hope you don't mind me re-opening it. I recently have come into ownership of several IMF and TDL speakers. I have a TLS 50II. I just finished doing the surrounds on the mids. I think they sound really good. But I'm not so sure they are working as they should. My question is regarding that "super tweeter". I don't hear anything out of it. I pulled both, and they ohm out ok. When I did a quick search, I've read they handle frequencies above our audible levels. Really? Is that all they handle? Shouldn't there be something coming out? If so, then I'll have to start pulling more to check out the cross overs. Just find it odd that both would be bad when every other driver is working find. Is there any "common" issues with the super tweeters? Known issues with the crossovers for them? Any insight would be helpful. Just not looking forward to pulling everything out. And as others have found out, the drivers were glued in and not that easy to get out without possible damage. Thanks all.

Hi, have you try to listen by puting a cardbord tube from toilet paper or towel paper tube to be shure you don't hear the "ish" coming from the STW. It should have sound coming from it.
